| In India 14th November is celebrated as Children''s Day.Schools hold events, retaurants have theme parties, amusement parks have assorted events for children . Yet there are millions of children in this country who are not even aware that they have a day dedicated to them. This small write is a tribute to the little ones. Fourteenth November - that is today Here in India is celebrated as Children''s DayHere in India...
Every second child is born malnourished. Ninety five out of a thousand children Die before they reach their first birthday. Seventy of every thousand don''t even reach the age of five.
These are the little children who hold our dreams in their little close fisted palms. That light up our lives, our incandescent dreams. Which we hope will survive through these grubby little beings. But what if they turn around and question. What are YOU doing for us? Where is our drinking water? Where is that one room shelter you promised us? What happened to our midday meal?
What is it my friend, that you and I are going to then reveal? That the government eats up our funds? That the politician likes his bread well buttered? That the country’s defense is of far more import Than your hungry eyes or your empty stomach? | |
